Available Print Methods:
- DFT (Direct Film Transfer)
- Flex Sub Block
- Embroidery
- Sublimation (Gear Only)
- Screen Printed (No Longer Offered)
DFT (Direct Film Transfer)
Full-color, high-detail prints on a special film, then heat-pressed onto fabric
Soft-touch feel with slight stretch
On sublimated polyester — especially dark fabrics — light-colored DFT may absorb some base color (known as dye migration)
Best for cotton or light-colored polyester shirts, or when using dark-colored DFT
Used for names, numbers, logos, and sponsors
Great for general use, fine detail, and budget-friendly customization
Note:
Front DFT prints on sublimated fabric may show slight color blending on light designs over dark — this is a normal effect.
Back prints are not affected, though colors may appear softer than Flex Sub Block.
Flex Sub Block (Heat Transfer Vinyl with Dye Barrier)
Thick, bold, vivid color with a clean finish — even white on dark
Dye-block layer prevents color bleed from sublimated or dyed polyester
Especially effective for white or bright colors on dark fabrics
Slightly stiffer feel compared to DFT
Best for white on dark, sponsor logos, logos and premium name/number applications
Ideal for back numbers, team names, or sponsor text that must stand out
Embroidery (Logo Only)
Classic stitched finish with a premium look
Durable and long-lasting — doesn’t peel or fade
Not ideal for small text, fine details, or complex graphics
Commonly used for team crests or sponsor logos on selected shirts
Sublimation (Gear Brand Only)
Lightweight, breathable, and fully fused into the fabric
No peeling, cracking, added layers, or material — perfect for full-color designs
Available only on select Gear jerseys made with sublimated fabric — not dye fabric
Used for names, numbers, logos, and sponsors printed directly into the shirts For shorts, this method is used for numbers or logos only.
Screen Printed (No Longer Offered)
Over time, we’ve gradually phased out screen printing in favor of newer technologies like DFT and Flex Sub Block.
These methods offer excellent quality, better design flexibility, and are more environmentally friendly — using less water and energy while reducing wastewater.
We believe they’re a better fit for today’s customized jersey needs — and we think you’ll love the results.
Not Sure What to Choose?
If you're unsure, don't worry — here's a simple rule of thumb:
Use DFT for light-colored polyester shirts or shorts
Use Flex Sub Block for dark or sublimated polyester shirts or shorts
Use Embroidery for logos where stitching is preferred
Use Sublimation only on compatible Gear brand shirts or shorts
