Saha Man U vs Sunderland GoalManchester United have been struggling this season, with only 5 points under their belts, out of possible 12. Fortunately their win last week against Tottenham had pulled them out of the relegation zone. For Sunderland it was meaningful game as manager Ron Keane returned to Old Trafford for the first time as a manager; Keane however showed little emotion. When Keane entered the stadium he received an enormous response from the crowd; showing their respect for a player who had served United for so many years.

Right from the kick off it looked to be yet another game where Uniteds' opponents would sit 11 men behind the ball and try to hold on for a point. Throughout the first half Sunderland did not create many chances, but did not allow Manchester many chances either. United lacked any real creativity with their 2 big stars Rooney and Ronaldo out through injury and suspension.
Tevez looked extremely unconformable trying to play the roll of lone striker, he had almost no chance of balls in the air.
Chris Eagles made a start, and seems to improve each week. This week he was probably the most creative player in the United side for the first half; definitely a player to keep an eye on.
Owen Hargreaves had a few good attempts from distances, but all went wide. Fellow new signing Anderson also started but looking either out of form, or unaccustomed to the EPL game.

Shortly into the second half Saha made his return, having been out through injury since May. Saha immediately brightened the game and allowed Tevez more freedom to drift. Saha was also able to run in on balls played behind the defense; which caused great problems for the Sunderland back four.

Finally Nani crossed a corner into the crowded 6 yard box and Saha managed to nod the ball pass stranded Sunderland keeper; Craig Gordon. After the goal the game slowed down as United were content to grind out the three points.
