The day that all EPL fans have been waiting for throughout the summer has finally arrived; especially with England failing to qualify for Euro 2008 it has been a long break for English fans.

Newly promoted West Bromwich Albion were certainly going to have their work cut out for them against the EPL long timers Arsenal.

Although Arsenal had lost several key players over the summer, such as Helb, Flamini and Gilberto, they started the game very well and new comer Nasri was quick to become a fan favorite by scored this first Arsenal goal, 4 minutes into his premier debut.

The gunners continued to dominate the first 30 minutes playing their own brand of silky football, but much as with last season they seemed to lack any real cutting edge up front, and towards the end of the half West Brom started to get back into the game.

The second half started with WBA looking more confident with Kim doing well on the ball and Miller starting to use his considerable size advantage in the Arsenal half. Arsenal had lots of good passing around the box, but just couldn't seem to find the final ball.

At the final whistle it was the gunners who walked away with 3 points, but it will probably be West Bromwich that takes more confidence away from the game. They went to the emirates for their first EPL game and managed to get away with a 1-0 loss, almost nicking an equalizer towards the end.
